Forever Friends
An animal adoption flow for an animal shelter
A responsive website allowing users to find the furry friend just right for them. The website will allow users to learn about animals currently living at a local animal shelter, providing them with the habits, behavioral traits and personality traits of the pets they can adopt.
User Research
I had conducted interviews with people from my local animal shelter and asked how they normally inform the public that there are adoptions open – I had then come to the conclusion that the public might not even know they can adopt from shelters.
In my area I had also interview people with pets and asked how they went about adopting their animals and then asked whether they had considered adopting from shelters and all said they would because every animal needs a home.

Problem
Even with a large number of animal shelters, few people know where they are able to adopt, then there is also the ‘unknown behavior’ factor of adopting animals from shelters – users have to go out of their way to visit shelters all over only to learn that the animals do not have the right personality for the users household.
-
Goal
ForeverFriends wants to provide the users with a description and background on each animal staying at the shelter as well as behavioral and personality traits – allowing users to gage whether or not they will be able to find the right pet without having to go the distance.
Accessibility Considerations
-
Users are able to swipe instead of clicking through buttons.
-
There are pop up messages when you hover over something long enough.
-
All images will have captions or image text for screen reader users.

Project Impact
I hope my design will allow local shelters to showcase the animals they have and help get those animals into loving homes.
